We are living in a Tyranny

According to Dictionary.com, Tyranny is described as, “an arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power; despotic abuse of authority.”   The people of the United States have determined that the previous government had greatly overreached their authority. They expressed this belief by overwhelming electing Donald Trump, President of the United States. Even with the swing states. Now within the first 200 days of the voter’s choice, change is erupting with a large group of people that believe elections only mean something when their side wins.  So, what are their options? One group that has elected derange violence, burning and damaging Tesla automobiles as a protest. There is another that has chosen using rouge Judges to block all the moves of our legally elected officials and their properly appointed officials. This group is the one I would like to focus on.

In the past 150 years our government has slowly evolved into a Tyranny of the Judiciary. We have been told that the final arbiter of the meaning of the Constitution was the Judicial Branch. This is far from the original intent of our founding document. Thomas Jefferson wrote, “…to consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions; a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy.”

Most of President Trump’s executive orders have found themselves in one Court or another.  This has served its purpose of slowing the implementation of the people’s will. They have labored tirelessly to return murderous gang members, fund LGBT agendas which includes disfigurement of children in foreign nations, and return ineligible individuals based on gender dysphoria to their military positions.

This is not limited to the federal government; the problem has also appeared here in Wyoming.  The Wyoming Constitution states that the Legislature, “shall provide for the maintenance of a complete and uniform system of public instruction.” What does that mean? Normally, it would mean whatever the people of Wyoming, through their elected representatives, decides it means. But no, the Courts with their infinite wisdom have directed what it means. They have also, the complete and total understanding to determine what constitutes “healthcare”. What a magical group of individuals!  There seems to be nothing a Judge does not have the knowledge and wisdom to determine. The hubris displayed by judges at every level is stunning to say the least. What happens to pledging to uphold The Constitution?

From what I recall from my constitution classes many years ago, the people are sovereign, and through their elected representatives, they exercise their power. Andrew Jackson explained the truth about the Constitution. “The Congress, the Executive, and the Court must each for itself be guided by its own opinion of the Constitution.” I believe that this is also true of our state Constitution as well.

It is time for our federal and state elected officials to exercise their powers that were delegated to them by the people, to take control of our state and federal government, and implement the policies the people desire. I would like to remind you, our readers and Wyoming State Legislators of the Wyoming unofficial moto, “Live by the Brand”, with core values, culture, and opportunities.

Courts have no real power except what our representatives give them. Some may say it will cause a Constitutional crisis. It may, but we didn’t cause it, they did. The tyranny must end, if it takes a crisis to do it, then so be it. “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” Edmund Burke (1729-1797 philosopher, Irish Statesman)
